A stunning full-colour sketchbook
London in Landscape has been a labour of love for upcoming young artist Karen Neale. Since June 2005 she has been braving all weathers in order to capture, in her own very distinctive style, many of the capital's most famous scenes, from Buckingham Palace to Smithfield Market, from Bow Street to Chinatown, from the Tate Modern to Trafalgar Square. The result is a stunning book that all Londoners and visitors to their city will want to own.
'Neale's vibrant collection of watercolours and sketches capture the essence of the London scenes she's chosen. She adds her own idiosyncratic comments around the edge of each picture. Sometimes - as in her roof-top view from the National Portrait Gallery, in which a phrase becomes a wisp of cloud - the text is incorporated as part of the vista. These touches add further life to her busy representations of some of the capital's most interesting spots, both touristy and a little more recherche' What's On In London
'Her passion for buildings... the canny choices of location and... unusual scribblings around the edges of each painting turn[s] this collection into something... substantial' Good Book Guide
